This is a hand-painted Vajrapani TibetanThangka Painting with silk brocade. The Vajrapani is regarded as one of the Eight Heart sons of Shakyamuni Buddha. He is one of the earliest Dharmapalas of Mahayana Buddhism and is a protector and guide of Gautama Buddha. The Vajrapani is usually shown in a wrathful form and known as Guhyapati - 'the Lord of Secrets.' He is said to be the main holder of all the Tantra teachings received from the Shakyamuni Buddha.
