This is a master-quality Padmasambhava, Guru Rinpoche Tibetan Thangka Painting.

Guru Padmasambhava, also known as Guru Rinpoche, is a highly revered figure in Tibetan Buddhism and is considered one of the founding fathers of the Nyingma tradition, the oldest school of Tibetan Buddhism. He is also known by various other names, such as Guru Rinpoche, Padmakara, and the Second Buddha.

According to Tibetan Buddhist tradition, Guru Padmasambhava was an 8th-century Indian master who played a pivotal role in bringing Buddhism to Tibet. He was invited by the Tibetan king Trisong Detsen to help establish Buddhism in the region and to subdue malevolent spiritual forces. Padmasambhava is often depicted as a tantric yogi with a long white beard and a staff, wearing a lotus hat and holding a skullcup and a vajra (thunderbolt) in his hands.

Guru Padmasambhava is credited with many miraculous activities, including taming and converting local deities and spirits, establishing the first Buddhist monastery in Tibet (Samye Monastery), and transmitting profound teachings to his disciples, especially his consort Yeshe Tsogyal. He is also considered the author of various tantric texts known as terma, which were concealed in Tibet to be discovered by future generations of practitioners.

Padmasambhava's teachings emphasize the importance of compassion, wisdom, and the recognition of the inherent Buddha nature within all beings. He is revered as a compassionate and skillful teacher who provided practical methods for spiritual development, including various meditation practices and rituals.

Guru Padmasambhava's influence extends beyond Tibet and has spread throughout the Himalayan region and beyond. He is particularly venerated in Bhutan, where he is considered the country's patron saint, and in the Himalayan regions of India, Nepal, and Sikkim. His legacy continues to inspire millions of Buddhist practitioners around the world, and he is often regarded as a powerful figure for dispelling obstacles and bringing about spiritual transformation.
